API keys
Create a key so an AI assistant or the aeosome command line can read your workspace.
An API key lets Claude, Cursor, another AI assistant or your own script read the same numbers you see in the dashboard: products, questions, answers, citations, competitors, fixes and usage.
API keys are included in every paid plan. On Free, the card shows a link to upgrade instead.
Create a key
- Open Settings from the user menu, then the Integrations tab.
- In API access: CLI and AI agents, name the key after where it will live, for example "Claude Desktop" or "Weekly report script".
- Select Create key and copy it straight away. It starts with
aeo_and is not shown again.
The card also shows the exact command to connect Claude Code with that key.
What a key can and cannot do
- Read only. A key reads your data. It cannot change settings, start a scan, apply a fix or see billing details.
- One workspace. A key belongs to the workspace it was created in and only sees that workspace.
- Revoke any time. Revoke a key from the same card and anything using it stops working at once. Make one key per tool, so revoking one does not break the others.
Next: connect an assistant with MCP or use the command line.
